Water Quality

As our seaweed is wild harvested from the ocean it is exposed to a range of factors. Our mission is to produce seaweed products of the highest quality and so we have stringent procedures and testing in place to ensure this. We constantly monitor and respond to fluctuations in the environment in order to maintain our quality levels.

Seaweed Testing

Seaweed absorbs all its nutrients from its ocean environment, which is not static - ocean currents are ever changing. It is therefore important to regularly test seaweed for contaminants. We test our seaweeds for harmful microbes and unhealthy levels of minerals and trace elements. These tests are through accredited third party organisations in accordance with the ANZ Food Code, Schedule 19. After extensive consultation with both the Victorian Health Department and Local Councils, we have also developed an independently audited food safety plan that allows for the harvest, processing and packaging of our range of Australian seaweed products.
